Keller Chosen as 2020 Recipeint of Michael A. Shultz Leadership Award
For Signifiant Contributions to the Defiance Community
Defiance, OH: Bryan Keller, CEO of Keller Logistics Group, was presented with the Michael A. Schultz Leadership Award at the 2020 Defiance Area Chamber of Commerce annual awards ceremony. The award is named after the late Michael A. Schultz, a great influencer to the Defiance community. The award is given to an individual that exhibits exceptional leadership and dedicates time and talent to the betterment of the Defiance area, making significant contributions to both the community and their profession.
When presenting the award, Schultz’s daughter highlighted the core values that her father and Keller share: obligation, integrity, and just doing what’s right. She went on to quote her father, “leadership only works where people are willing to risk change,” adding that “he (Keller) goes outside of normal boundaries and leads by encouragement, vision, and innovation.”
In acceptance, Keller stated that he was honored to receive an award named after such a giver and doer who had a heart dedicated to Defiance. He explained how a trip to Hershey PA inspired his investment in the Defiance community,
“I saw the Hershey Kiss street lights and I thought- this is the kind of impact a company can have on a community. I decided then that Keller Logistics would do that for Defiance…this is why we at Keller want to restore 300 Clinton, this is why we are helping workforce development, this why we care about Defiance College, this is why we built a spec building, this is why we created Operation K.A.V.I.C. (Keller Assists Veterans In Crisis), all for the betterment of Defiance.”
Keller continued by sharing the company’s core focus- the Keller Circle of Life- “We deliver for our people, they deliver for our customers, our customer reward us with good business, and we take care of the community.” He elaborated by saying we do all we do because of family, adding his daughters are the reason he wants to leave a legacy for Defiance Ohio.
