Defiance, OH: Keller Trucking and driver, 8 year Marine Veteran Matt Chapman were privileged to be part of the annual nationwide effort of delivering wreaths across America to the graves of fallen service men and women for the holiday season.
Over 160 volunteer trucking companies participated in WAA this year. In total, WAA and its hundreds of volunteers honored approximately 900,000 fallen veterans (over 1000 locations nationwide) with the placing of the memorial wreath on their grave.
Highlighting this event was the laying of over 230,000 wreaths at every veterans’ grave in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia (below). On the Saturday following the laying of the wreaths, all participating cemeteries nationwide, at 12 noon EST, conducted the National Wreaths across America Remembrance Ceremony. Below, Floral Grove Cemetery in West Unity, a site we delivered to, acknowledges all service branches in their ceremony.
The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) is the national logistics coordinator and the Ohio Trucking Association (OTA) provided us with our designated route. Keller Trucking is a current member of both organizations.
Keller Trucking delivered over 300 wreaths to seven cemeteries in NW Ohio including 200 wreaths to Riverside Cemetery here in Defiance.
In tandem with OPERATION K.A.V.I.C., Keller Logistics Group is committed to provide our personal and company resources in support of our local veterans and for Wreaths across America and pledge even greater involvement in the years to come. 2016 planning is underway – stay tuned!
